• Welcome to Your UPLIFT Manual & Guidance

  • You may already be familiar with the traditional use of Kanna (Sceletium Tortuosum) and its reputation for supporting mood, clarity, and emotional balance. What is less commonly understood are the specific biochemical and neurological pathways influenced not only by Kanna itself, but also by the carefully selected supporting ingredients within UPLIFT.

This formulation has been designed to work gently yet precisely, influencing systems involved in mood regulation, stress response, and nervous-system balance — without relying on psychedelic mechanisms. Below, we outline each primary ingredient and its role, followed by practical guidance on how to work with UPLIFT safely and effectively.

  • The Ingredients & Their Roles

  • Kanna (Sceletium Tortuosum)

Kanna contains a unique group of alkaloids — most notably mesembrine and mesembrenone — which act primarily as serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SRIs) and PDE4 inhibitors. In practical terms, this supports increased serotonin availability while also contributing to cognitive clarity and emotional resilience.

Many people experience Kanna as gently activating, mood-brightening, and socially opening. Its effects are typically stabilising and grounding, rather than intoxicating or disorienting.

  • Saffron (Crocus Sativus)

Saffron contributes safranal, crocin, and picrocrocin, compounds shown to support balanced serotonin and dopamine signalling while offering antioxidant and neuroprotective support. Within UPLIFT, saffron helps smooth emotional fluctuations, reduce heaviness, and support calm, steady mental energy.

Its action is harmonising rather than stimulating, adding warmth and emotional resilience to the formulation.

  • Pink Lotus (Nelumbo Nucifera)

Pink Lotus contains alkaloids such as nuciferine and neferine, which support relaxation, emotional openness, and gentle nervous-system down-regulation. These compounds interact subtly with serotonergic and dopaminergic pathways, contributing a soft, heart-opening quality.

Users often describe calm presence, increased sensitivity, and greater ease in meditation, breathwork, or creative states.

  • Orange Oil (Citrus Sinensis)

Orange oil is rich in d-limonene, a well-studied compound known to reduce stress signalling and support emotional uplift. Within UPLIFT, it helps ease nervous tension and promote a lighter, more positive baseline mood, while also supporting digestive and nervous-system comfort.

  • Monatomic Copper

Monatomic copper is included in a highly refined, non-metallic form. Traditionally associated with cellular energy flow, clarity, and vitality, it is believed to interact subtly with the body’s electrical and energetic systems. Within UPLIFT, it acts as a fine-tuning element, supporting coherence and integration across the formulation.

  • Getting Started

  • UPLIFT is designed to be approachable, gentle, and adaptable. Because this formulation may be new to your system, we strongly recommend beginning with a lower amount and allowing your body time to respond.

  • Many people start with half a serving or less, particularly during the first few days. For best absorption, UPLIFT is often taken on an empty stomach, ideally around one hour before eating or two hours after food. Due to its mildly activating nature, it is generally better taken earlier in the day rather than in the evening.

If effects feel very subtle at first, it can be tempting to increase quickly. However, a slow, patient approach tends to produce more balanced and sustainable results. Staying with a lower amount for several days allows you to notice shifts that may otherwise be missed.

  • What You May Notice

  • Kanna can sometimes be felt physically — as warmth, a sense of moving energy, heightened awareness, or mild stimulation. These sensations are normal and usually temporary.

That said, the deeper intention of UPLIFT is not intensity, but a steady, underlying shift toward ease, clarity, gratitude, and emotional brightness. These changes are often cumulative and subtle, becoming more apparent over time rather than all at once.

Keeping a simple mood or reflection journal can help track these changes.

  • Finding the Right Rhythm

  • We suggest a 5 days on / 2 days off rhythm when working with UPLIFT. Regular rest days allow the nervous system to integrate and help reduce potential tolerance build-up.

That said, you are welcome to explore other intermittent routines that feel supportive to your system. The key principle is simple: take breaks regularly.

  • Do I Need to Take Breaks to Avoid Tolerance Build-Up?

  • Let’s compare Kanna to more classical microdosing protocols, for example psilocybin-based products. Psilocybin acts as a direct 5-HT2A receptor agonist and is therefore usually taken in clearly defined cycles with extended breaks, as repeated use can lead to receptor down-regulation and psychological saturation.

Kanna works very differently. Its primary action is gentle serotonin reuptake inhibition combined with PDE4 modulation, making it more comparable to neuromodulatory or adaptogenic botanicals than to psychedelics. For this reason, Kanna can be used more regularly and does not require strict long-term limits. That said, some tolerance to its mood-brightening effects can still develop with uninterrupted use, which is why short breaks are recommended to maintain sensitivity and integration.

  • What If I Take Too Much?

  • Kanna does not behave like substances where increasing the amount reliably enhances the experience. In many cases, taking too much can reduce comfort rather than increase benefit.

At higher amounts, some people may experience:

    • Overstimulation or restlessness
    • A more noticeable or faster heartbeat
    • Warmth, flushing, or tingling sensations
    • Mental tension or a “wired” feeling
    • Mild nausea or emotional flattening
    • Increased bowel activity

These effects are usually temporary but can feel uncomfortable, especially for those new to Kanna. UPLIFT is designed to support a subtle, cumulative shift, not a forceful state change. If more than feels comfortable is taken, pause further use, hydrate, rest, and engage in calming practices such as mindful breathing or lying down. Do not drive until you feel fully settled.

  • Can I Drive When Taking Kanna?

  • The intention of UPLIFT is to support clarity and emotional balance without impairing daily function. When used responsibly and at appropriate amounts, you should feel fully capable in their normal activities.

However, individual sensitivity varies. Do not drive or operate machinery until you understand how UPLIFT affects you personally, especially during your first days of use or if you have taken more than usual.

  • Can I combine Kanna with other protocols?

  • We generally recommend using UPLIFT on its own rather than combining it with other mood-focused or serotonergic products on the same day. While the risk of adverse reactions at low amounts is very small, avoiding unnecessary overlap helps keep the experience smooth and balanced.

Some people find Kanna and Amanita to feel complementary — one more activating, the other more relaxing — but we still recommend keeping them separate in time, rather than taken together.

UPLIFT is typically compatible with grounding or nutritional supports such as M3C or Shilajit. If using flushing niacin, use caution, as warmth or flushing sensations may feel more pronounced. Spacing them by a few hours is usually more comfortable.

Always listen to your body. If anything feels off, pause use.

  • ⚠️ Contraindications — IMPORTANT

  • Do NOT use Kanna if you are:

    • Taking SSRIs (e.g. sertraline, fluoxetine, citalopram)
    • Taking SNRIs (e.g. venlafaxine, duloxetine)
    • Taking MAOIs
    • Taking tramadol or other strongly serotonergic medications
    • Pregnant or breastfeeding (insufficient safety data)
    • Diagnosed with a serious psychiatric condition unless under professional guidance
    • On a regular psilocybin microdosing protocol without spacing intakes appropriately

    Use caution if you:

    • Are sensitive to serotonergic substances
    • Have low blood pressure
    • Combine with other calming herbs or alcohol
    • Are on a regular Amanita protocol

If in doubt, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.

  • A Few Closing Words

  • We take what we do seriously and care deeply about the wellbeing of everyone who works with our creations. Our intention is always to support clarity, balance, and long-term benefit, not intensity or excess.

Please work responsibly, patiently, and consciously with UPLIFT.
